The interview for the US visa takes place at the US embassy in Thailand, Bangkok. We always send a staff member with to ensure that there are no misunderstandings. Also if more documents are needed we can obtain this while at the embassy. The position of the US embassy is to asses if the relationship is real or not. This can only really be done in person. They will ask a number of questions to check if the relationship is real by asking questions about you and noting the response from your Thai fiancee. These would be some of those questions.
- How old is your fiancee?
- When is his birthday?
- How many brothers does he have?
- Where did you meet?
- What is his favorite food?
- What does he do for a living?
- Where in the US does he live?
These are basic question to see if she known you well enough to say that you have a real relationship. We always check before an interview that you fiancee is dressed appropriately and that she knows at least the basics such as your age, location, occupation etc. Many women become nervous during the interview and forget very basic things such as their own surname.
If you are going to be taking your Fiancee home and she is in Pattaya or back in Isaan then speak to us online or in person and allow us to assist you taking your loved ones back to the US. As stated a K1 Visa normally takes 6 months to complete and a K3 or CR1 between 6 months and 1 year.
